Investment Objective
The investment objectives of the HFA Partners Fund was to generate superior returns over the long term across all market conditions via leveraged exposure to the performance of a concentrated portfolio of international absolute return funds and hedge funds.
However, in September 2008 following the unprecedented volatility in global financial markets and subsequent deteriorating conditions the responsible entity provided notice of its intention to wind-up the Fund. This decision was made as the investment risk of the fund had increased to a level beyond to which the responsible entity thought in the best interests of investors. The investment objective of the Fund is to now realise the remaining assets of the Fund and return the proceeds to investors.
Investment Strategy
The investments of the HFA Partners Fund include:
- Shares in the Lighthouse Aggressive Growth Fund Limited – Class A
- Cash and cash equivalent investments
Term of the Investment
Certitude will continue to realise the Fund’s assets as quickly as possible and return funds to investors as and when proceeds from the realisation program are received. Due to the nature of the assets held by the underlying funds, to which the Fund has exposure, and the recovering nature of financial markets, the asset realisation program is complex. At this stage it is not possible to confirm a definitive timetable for when the asset realisation program will be completed and all proceeds returned to investors.
